Hello, that’s me, the serious looking chap above. Normally I’d avoid talking about myself but, as this website is a celebration of the products, people and places in the UK that I love, and have shot and written about, it would be churlish not to go the whole hog.
Now, I’ve spent the past 15 years in the ‘fashion’ industry, from Saturday boy and working on shop floor as a history student - yup, a diversion – through to senior buyer; store owner through to consultant; photographer through to well everything. You name it, I suspect I’ve at some point done it.
One thing I believe in is seeking the next thing, taking risks and helping in any way I can those individuals and brands which I believe have ‘it’.
That was our buying policy at my store Daniel Jenkins. We focused upon the best in up and coming British talent and I’m profoundly proud of what we did and what those brands have gone on to achieve.
From there, through my company Daniel Jenkins Ltd, I’ve been fortunate to work with some of the world’s brightest and best. From setting up the first department store in one of the world’s fastest growing economies, to working closely with many of our most beloved British heritage brands.
Despite my continuing work around the world, I’ve always been drawn back to the talent we have here in Britain. Purposeful Activity is, in many ways, a continuation of this - the next step in my journey.
Purposeful Activity is the place to allow those things I’ve discovered to breathe, and talk about those people I respect. Given all that I’ve been blessed to have experienced and learnt it would be remiss of me not to share…
